  Service to Bluegrass IIBA Chapter

Inductee: LeShai Phelps

LeShai Phelps joined Bluegrass IIBA Chapter in 2014. She began serving as a chapter leader as Director of Marketing Strategies in 2015.

As Director of Marketing Strategies, LeShai was instrumental in opening new marketing for the chapter, including new local newspapers, chamber business calendar and others.  She began using the chapter's social media outlets to improve consistent and effective marketing of chapter meetings and events.

LeShai was first elected to the role of Vice President of Marketing and Communication in 2016. In this role LeShai proposed the Bluegrass BA Connection newsletter to the Board of Directors. She was instrumental in getting the newsletter off the ground and serves as Newsletter Publisher. She curates content and authors great content herself for the newsletter. The newsletter has received very high reading rates under LeShai's direction.

LeShai also proposed and was key to having the chapter purchase chapter logoed giveaway items. In 2018, the chapter purchased pens, webcam covers and paper portfolios with the chapter logo on them. These were very welcomed by the community as they were given away at chapter meetings and events, and at the Commerce Lexington Business Link trade show, of which the chapter participated.

LeShai continued to open new marketing channels as she proposed to the Board, and began using Meetup social media application to reach a new audience in both Lexington and Louisville.

During all this time LeShai also served as the liaison between Bluegrass IIBA Chapter and her employer, Tempur-Sealy. She handled the communications and negotiation for Tempur-Sealy to host and sponsor chapter events.

LeShai has proven to be a valuable resource to the chapter and Bluegrass business analysis community.
