During the month of August Bluegrass IIBA Members have been considering a proposed Bylaws change to change the current term limits of all Board of Directors members except the President. Current term limits for all Board members is two consecutive elected terms; each term is two years, for a total of four (4) years a person may serve in one position. Someone approached the Board to...

reconsider term limits, saying it was too restrictive. It has not been a problem for the chapter to find Board members. At times, people have approached chapter leaders volunteering to help run the chapter. Bluegrass IIBA Chapter has never had a vacant Board position in it's 11 years of existence.

However, the Board considered this new perspective and reconsidered it's current term limits. It reviewed other associations and chapters in the nonprofit community. The Board decided to propose a change to change the term limit for all Board members, except the President, to four (4) consecutive elected terms; each of two years, totaling eight (8) a person may serve in one position. The President's term limit remains at two consecutive elected terms. The Board felt it was important for the President to change frequently.

The proposed Bylaws change to change term limits went to the membership for ratification in August 2025. Voting closed on August 31, 2025. The proposal was ratified by the membership. New Bylaws will be disseminated and made available on the chapter website soon.
