My CBAP Certification Journey
I remember when I started working for HP (now DXC Technology) as a Business Analyst in 2012. I was very interested in the meetings held by the BA’s Team regarding CBAP Certification; it was the first time I heard about it. Then, following the same work routine, I left it unfinished, and it took me many years to resume it.
In 2022, I joined a virtual group from Brazil, having many years of experience. There were no study groups in my area to choose from, so, taking advantage of my Portuguese skills, I joined that group and met great professionals pursuing different objectives. It was a wonderful experience at IIBA Brazil. Still, I encountered a personal incident at the end of the course that required me to travel for several months, preventing me from taking the exam after completing the course.
Finally, a few months ago, I joined the IIBA Bluegrass Chapter study group, where I reviewed everything, I had read before. I also met another group of fantastic professionals with whom I could share and connect. It was much easier to read; my work as an interpreter helped significantly, and I must share that I finally achieved certification as a Business Analyst.
Along the way, I understood that the path I took, the people I met, the information and everything I learned were far more critical than obtaining the Certification.
I want to thank everyone I met along the way for their help during this journey, and of course, I appreciate the support of my family.
