Bluegrass IIBA Volunteer Spotlight: Lenin Reyes Earns the Spirit of Volunteerism Award
Our Volunteer Spotlight Series continues with Lenin Reyes, recipient of the Spirit of Volunteerism Award. This award recognizes a volunteer who gives generously of their time and talent, and who steps up wherever the chapter needs them. Lenin has done exactly that since joining the team.
Lenin joined the Bluegrass IIBA Chapter Leadership Team in 2025 as Vice President of Sponsorship. Sponsors are essential to the chapter’s ability to serve its members, and Lenin has taken on the work of building and maintaining those relationships.
He handles communication with the chapter’s current sponsors, including thanking them for their continued support of the chapter's programs and mission when they renew their sponsorship with the chapter. That personal touch helps sponsors feel valued and appreciated. During Lenin’s term, the chapter has seen an 85% sponsor retention rate.
Lenin also looks to the future of the chapter’s sponsorship program. He suggests prospective new sponsors and reaches out to bring them into the Bluegrass IIBA community, helping broaden the support behind the chapter’s programs and events.
Just as important, Lenin is a volunteer who steps up whenever chapter leadership needs him, whether or not the task falls within his role. That willingness to pitch in wherever he’s needed is the heart of this award.
With strong sponsor relationships, new sponsor outreach, and a readiness to help wherever the chapter needs him, Lenin Reyes is a true example of the spirit of volunteerism.
