Bluegrass IIBA Volunteer Spotlight: Dolores Vadi Earns the Event Excellence Award

Our Volunteer Spotlight Series continues with Dolores Vadi, recipient of the Event Excellence Award. This award recognizes a volunteer whose work behind the scenes consistently elevates the quality of our chapter's events — and Dolores has been doing exactly that for more than six years.

Dolores has served the Bluegrass IIBA Chapter for over six years, organizing and coordinating events that have become some of the chapter's most successful. Her reputation for strong event coordination earned her recognition earlier this year as well, when she was inducted into the Bluegrass Business Analysis Hall of Fame.

One of her standout achievements was coordinating a joint webinar featuring Dr. Joe Perez, bringing together 10 IIBA chapters as co-sponsors. Pulling off an event of that scale takes more than scheduling — Dolores managed all the communication, sent out invoices, and made sure the needs of each co-sponsoring chapter were clearly communicated back to the Board.

Dolores is also a regular, engaged voice on the chapter's Professional Development Committee, where she shares ideas for the kinds of events that will bring the most value to members. That same commitment has carried over into conference planning, where she has served on the chapter's conference planning committees, including the team behind the chapter's broadened-scope 2026 conference.

This year, Dolores has taken the lead in coordinating the chapter's Lunch 'n Learn events — finding speakers, confirming dates, and collecting promotional materials to make sure each session is well-prepared and well-promoted.

Across webinars, committee work, conference planning, and the chapter's ongoing Lunch 'n Learn series, Dolores has been a steady, behind-the-scenes force in making Bluegrass IIBA's events run smoothly and successfully — exactly what the Event Excellence Award is meant to honor.
