Inductee: Tomette Kirk, CBAP

 

“Tomette Kirk is one of the best Business Analysis leaders we have in the company.” is the way Tonette’s nomination for the Bluegrass Business Analysis Hall of Fame starts. It continues, “…she is the champion of introducing Business Analysis to the company.”

Tomette was instrumental in advocating for and implementing Humana’s Business Analysis Competency Center. She was teaching, and providing business analysis webinars before that time, and was the chief architect and instructor for years for the competency center. Tomette conducts frequent training programs for the employees and involve people from different levels of the organization to learn about and invest in business analysis; and best practices in delivering business analysis service to our business partners in and outside the company. The competency center also provides certified business analysts to the internal teams.

She is always available to answer Business Analysis questions and setting up the right process and procedure. Tomette has educated and assisted thousands of business analysts over the years, and continues to provide educational opportunities to Humana business analysts today.

Inductee: Bill Powers, CBAP

 

Bill Powers is a relentless advocate for the business analysis profession. He constantly reaches out to the other business units within Republic Bank & Trust to inform those business analysts of educational and training opportunities available to them. He has gotten Managers and Directors within his business unit, Monica Martinson and Yvonne Stutesman, involved in events of Kentuckiana IIBA Branch. He was the key influencer and advocate for himself and his business analyst partner, Bronson Zell, getting the Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) certification in 2018.

Bill still reaches out to former colleagues at Kindred Healthcare, ADP and Humana to keep them informed of opportunities for them to advance their own careers.

Bill joined the Bluegrass IIBA Chapter Leadership Team as Director of Kentuckiana Branch in February 2018 when then chapter started the Kentuckiana Branch. He then joined the Board of Directors in December 2018 as Vice President of Marketing and Communications, which he still holds today.

His nomination submission stated: “He has generously given his personal time to help others prepare for the CBAP exam and navigate the steps toward obtaining the CBAP themselves… He is very enthusiastic about the BA profession and promotes it well.”
